DESCRIPTION:Long time DJ partners in crime Mike L and Citizen Cane return to the wonderful Swan in Faringdon with their double DJ act on Saturday night 23rd March. \nThis is a night for lovers of soul music – Northern\, Motown\, 70s classics and more\, as well as a fitting tribute to Bob Marley on the 50th anniversary of the release of ’No Woman\, No Cry’. Besides this there’ll be slabs of ska and a few surprises as the two take turns with 45 minute sets before coming together for the final hour to play tunes back to back. \nThere’ll be a small\, solid dance floor for those who want to move and comfortable seating in the rest of the pub for those who want to listen and chat as well\, but everyone is very welcome to stop by and enjoy some classic tunes on the night. \nAs always there’ll be a friendly\, relaxed vibe in the pub\, created by Sue and Frank\, who do their utmost to keep everyone happy. \nCome and join us\, what is there to lose!

DESCRIPTION:Our first event at Tap Social in Oxford was absolutely brilliant! Many Faringdonians jumped on the bus and joined Citizen Cane and Mike L for a thoroughly enjoyable night \nTap Social has a vibe that just ooozes dance\, fun and making new friends – and their choice of beers is vast! \nThis time – these FOUR Amigos will be playing pure vinyl:- \nEchoman \nDJ Dee \nThe Big Boss Groove \nKehoe \nThe S6 bus runs from Oxford to Swindon and stops in all local villages and towns in between \nTap Social have written a fabulous write up about the event – taken from their website… \nLOS AMIGOS: UNBOTTLED!\nFree // 8-Late \nIn deepest\, darkest Oxfordshire there is the tiny town of Faringdon. Not many realise that it is a hub of musical activity\, full of creatives\, artists\, musicians\, DJs but more to the point… these people like to party! \nIn the Summer of 2023 we were invited to a festival (Folly Fest) in the town centre (just think on that a moment…a FESTIVAL in the TOWN CENTRE…) to run a Tap Social bar. Little did we know we’d be serving hundreds of pints to thousands of people! Loads of food\, drinks\, art\, crafts and stages full of music and theatrical performers! \nOne stage that caught our eye was tucked into The Old Crown’s pub garden had a crew of local DJs\, LOS AMIGOS they called themselves…all 10+ of them! All local music fanatics\, brought together by a love of vinyl records and DJing. All genres covered from modern dance music\, 80s/90s house\, breaks and garage\, through to classic funk & soul\, reggae and 2tone…and they had the place rammed with people bouncing off the cobbles\, all weekend\, despite wind and rain! \nTONIGHT… \nFARINGDON DESCENDS ON OXFORD FOR A FESTIVE KNEES UP! \nx4 LOS AMIGOS: – \n– ECHOMAN kicks off the party with his Ska\, Reggae & Rocksteady selection\n– DJ DEE plays an uptempo hour featuring female vocalists\n– THE BIG BOSS GROOVE with his Northern Soul and Mod inspired tunes\n– KEHOE takes it upbeat with a load of banging dance tunes to close the night \nExpect bus loads of party people and fantastic vibes all night long!

DESCRIPTION:Who doesn’t love a 3 legged race? \nOrganised by FundingD0ry Events\, the traditional Faringdon Halloween 3 legged race IS BACK! \nParticipants are encouraged to turn up in fancy dress\, and visit all the pubs in Faringdon and drink half a pint of lager\, beer\, or a different drink of their choice\, then make their way back to the starting point. This year\, The Old Crown are hosting the event \nTo support the event\, help raise funds for The Place – and provide entertainment\, two of our Amigos Kehoe and Big Boss Groove will be spinning records from more recent years.
