The day had finally arrived! After Mike L and Citizen Cane fantastic performance together on Friday, the rest of the Amigos were chomping at the bit to play their stuff!
The day started with Samuel setting up the decks on the cobbles at the Crown’s Courtyard, with help from Echoman who ran home to get a car jack to help stable the centre of the stage to reduce bounce. The Amigos had to tread very carefully during their sets. This didn’t stop them from dancing completely though!
The 12pm – 6pm multiple DJ session began with our youngest and newest member, Charlie, who took the stage by storm with his funk and soul. He was followed by The Big Boss Groove delivering his signature Northern Soul set. Then came Echoman, with his Rocksteady, Ska and Reggae. Next up – Phloor Philla! Another new Amigo keen to please the audience with his ‘Sounds of Manchester’ set. Then along comes Samuel Cordery with his awesome and much loved Blue Break and Acid Jazz. Bradders is up next with her Pure Rock set which went down a treat. Bradders hands over the decks to Kehoe, who literally had the crowd jumping with his 90s dance set. Finally, Vinyl Matt closes the Amigos slot with a great selection of Hip Hop.
We all had an amazing time supporting each other, and more importantly, contributing to the awesome thing that is FollyFest. What – a – weekend!
